Walt Disney's 1940 Pinocchio is an animation classic for over 80 years. Now, in the vein such as contemporary remakes like Guy Richie's Aladdin and the megablockbuster The Lion King from Jon Favreau, Oscar-winning director Robert Zemeckis is bringing Pinocchio to Disney+ on September 8 and has debuted a brand-new full trailer.

We got our first look at Tom Hanks as puppeteer Geppeto and Cynthia Erivo (Harriet) as the Blue Fairy back in May, but now we're treated to our first look at Pinocchio (Sandman's Benjamin Evan Ainsworth) in action, as well as the sly Honest John (Keegan-Michael Key), CGI versions of both Figaro and Cleo, Jiminy Cricket (Joseph Gordon-Levitt, doing a solid Cliff Edwards impression), and even the colossal Monstro. Check it out below.

Expanding on the already established characters, a new one will be introduced in this film: Sofia the Seagull, voiced by Lorraine Bracco. Luke Evans, who played Gaston in the live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast will return as the Coachman, owner and operator of Pleasure Island.

The original story is based on the 1883 Italian children's novel The Adventures of Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi and has been adapted dozens of times since Disney's adaptation. There are already a few coming out this year, including one by Guillermo del Toro, who is making his closer to the actual source material and even a version starring Pauly Shore.
