Disneyland's Avengers Campus, which had its first anniversary this year, is set to introduce its third major attraction, joining the Spider-Man and Guardians of the Galaxy rides. The new ride will be themed around the Multiverse, pitting guests against "King Thanos," a new version of the character from a universe where Thanos won against the Avengers.

The ride was first announced by CEO Bob Chapek at D23's Disney Legends Awards ceremony, where he teased that the Avengers Campus would be going "deeper into the multiverse."

"Guests will battle alongside super heroes and against villains from anywhere," Chapek teased in the ceremony. "And there might even be some you aren’t aware exist, yet!"

More about the upcoming ride was revealed by Kevin Feige as part of the Disney Parks panel at D23, as reported by CNET. Feige introduced the new King Thanos villain in the panel, explaining, "this is a Thanos that won, and the Avengers are not too happy about that and you have to help them."

After being delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Avengers Campus opened at the Disneyland Resort in California in June 2021. The new area debuted a brand-new Spider-Man themed ride, adding to the existing Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout attraction. The Campus also features a Doctor Strange themed area, an Ant-Man themed eatery, and roaming characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
