In regard to the Druid, players will have access to the Spirit Animals mechanic. Here's what you need to know about the Druid's unique abilities.

Diablo 4 Druid Spirit Animals mechanic

To start, the Spirit Animals system builds off of the Druid's ability to shapeshift into a wolf or bear and also have animals as companions. However, with Spirit Animal, players will be able to pick one of four different spirits at a time. The Spirit Animal they pick will offer them unique bonuses, which are called Boons in Diablo 4.

Players will unlock the first of the four Spirit Animals when they arrive in the town of Scosglen. This is where the Druid's class-specific quest takes place. Here, players will eventually cross paths with a Spirit Animal that they can harness. Once players capture a Spirit Animal, they will be able to take advantage of its specific Boons. Each Spirit Animal has four separate Boons, but they are unlocked in order.

For the most part, players can only have one Spirit Animal Boon active at a time. However, this changes when players present enough Offerings for a specific Boon. Offerings are randomly dropped from enemies and they can be given to a specific Spirit Animal's Boon. Once you have unlocked the maximum amount of Boons for a single Spirit Animal, which is a result of giving 100 total Offerings, you will unlock Spirit Bonding. This gives you the chance to equip a second Boon for a Spirit Animal. You need to repeat this process for all four Spirit Animals if you want the chance to use all of the available Boons.
