News in the world of Destiny today, as developer Bungie announced more player bans and teased some kind of possible news for Sony's PlayStation Experience event next month.

Starting with the bans, writing on Twitter, Bungie community manager Cozmo said the studio is issuing serious-sounding bans that block entire consoles. People being banned are those who have a "history of banned or restricted accounts," for various reasons.

The other piece of Destiny news today came from Bungie's latest weekly update. In it, Bungie teased some kind of reveal for Sony's PlayStation Experience event. The developer didn't name the event outright, but teased that it's heading to Anaheim, CA, which is the site of the conference.

This came up in Bungie's comments about how next week's update will be lighter, due in part to the Thanksgiving holiday in the US.

"Next week, Thanksgiving will be visited upon our shores," Bungie wrote. "There will still be blog fodder for your reading eyes. Intelligence reports it will be random and light. The week after, we’ll be packing our bags for Anaheim, CA. The particulars of our mission are still a mystery. We'll cross that finish line soon."

Destiny 2 is coming out next year, but the game has yet to be formally announced. Recently, Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg teased that Destiny 2 will "broaden" the appeal of the franchise.

"We're on track and really excited for what we think is going to be an awesome sequel for Destiny in 2017," Hirshberg said. "That sequel is designed to both excite our highly engaged current players but also to broaden the appeal even further, bringing in new fans and bringing back lapsed fans."

PSX runs December 3-4 in Anaheim, California. Immediately before it, on December 1, will be The Game Awards 2016. You can see all the nominees here.
