Destiny 2: Where Is Xur This Week? Exotic Items / Location Guide (Nov. 20-24)

Get yourself ready for Destiny 2's new Deep Stone Crypt raid with a visit to Xur for new Exotics.

Comments

This weekend is a big one for Destiny 2 and its new expansion, Beyond Light. The Deep Stone Crypt drops on Saturday at 10 AM PT, adding a whole new high-level experience to the game for players to take on. Get ready to take on the new raid by checking out a new batch of Exotics from everyone's favorite weekend vendor, Xur. Head to Nessus, to the Watcher's Grave area, to find Xur this week. For his weapon, Xur is offering Skyburner's Oath. Hunters can pick up the Aeon Swift gauntlets; for Titans, there are the Synthoceps gauntlets; and for Warlocks, Xur has the Karnstein Armlets gauntlets.

Xur Location

Find Xur in his old location from before the Season of Opulence on Nessus. Climb the tree at the north end of Watcher's Grave to find him.

You'll need to head to a new location to find Xur on Nessus in Beyond Light--which is actually his old location. Spawn in at the Watcher's Grave transmat zone and ride your sparrow north. You won't find Xur waiting on Calus's barge as usual, which isn't hovering over the area but has since crashed; instead, Xur is up the big reddish tree on the right side of the area, near the pathway toward The Tangle. Climb up and find him hanging out on one of the branches overlooking the area.

Xur Exotic Items

Xur's weapon for this week is Skyburner's Oath, an old Exotic from way back in Year One. It's a great gun against Cabal enemies, but unfortunately, probably won't be much help in the Deep Stone Crypt raid this weekend. If you're not a fan of his other options, Xur also sells an Exotic engram that will decrypt into an Exotic you don't already own. He also has the new Xenology Quest, which rewards an Exotic Cipher you can use to purchase Exotics from either Xur or the Tower's Monument to Lost Lights. The quest requires you to either complete Strikes or win matches in Gambit and the Crucible.

  • Exotic Engram -- 97 legendary shards
  • Skyburner's Oath -- 29 legendary shards
  • Aeon Swift -- 23 legendary shards
  • Synthoceps -- 23 legendary shards
  • Karnstein Armlets -- 23 legendary shards
  • Xenology quest -- free

Skyburner's Oath (Scout Rifle)

Skyburner's Oath does extra damage to Cabal and cuts through Phalanx shields, while also sporting two fire modes.

Though it's best used against the Cabal, Skyburner's Oath is still a pretty solid scout rifle in other situations as well. It fires explosive, seeking slugs when you fire it from the hip. When aiming down sights, it shoots fast, straight blasts, with higher damage and a lower rate of fire. It also does extra damage to Cabal enemies and goes straight through Phalanx shields, so if you need to take down a lot of tough Cabal enemies, this is a great way to do that.

Aeon Swift (Hunter)

Aeon Swift gives ability energy to nearby allies whenever you use your ability--but the benefits are best if your whole fireteam uses Aeon Exotics.

The Aeon Exotics work best when you and your teammates all decide to use them together. When you equip the gauntlets, using your dodge ability near your allies gives grenade energy to Warlocks, melee energy to Titans, and dodge energy to other Hunters. The gains are even higher if you are all wearing Aeon Exotics.

Synthoceps (Titan)

Synthoceps extend your Titan melee lunge and make your melee and Super more powerful whenever you're surrounded.

For Titans who like punching their way out of bad situations, Synthoceps can help. It increases your melee lunge, while also increasing your melee damage and Super damage when you're surrounded. The extra lunge boost can be helpful in the Crucible, while the damage increase makes clearing out enemies in PvE just a little bit easier.

Karnstein Armlets heal you when you get a melee kill--the gauntlets will help you survive close-range emergency situations.

Another melee-focused Exotic, Karnstein Armlets reward you for scoring melee kills. Whenever you punch an enemy to death, the gauntlets give you a big health boost and start health restoration automatically for a short period after that. That's great if you expect close-combat in the Crucible, where the health boost after a melee fight can save your life. Karnstein Armlets also have a great, kind of sad Exotic lore tidbit, so take a second to read it.
