Destiny 2 Starcat Guide - Where To Find Each Collectible In Season Of The Wish

Scour the Dreaming City to find some feline friends and unlock Triumphs.

Comments

The Season of the Wish takes Destiny 2 players back to the Dreaming City for the first time since before the launch of The Witch Queen and resurrects some major elements from way back in the Forsaken expansion. One of those things is the quest to find cosmic kitties hiding within the Dreaming City. It seems that each week during the Season of the Wish, new Starcats will appear within the city, requiring you to track them down to unlock Triumphs and earn some specific rewards.

Locating all the Starcats is essential to complete the Wishbearer seal and will also earn you the Wyrmguard Shell for your Ghost.

Here's where you can find the Starcats hidden within the Dreaming City throughout the Season of the Wish.

Week 6

Garden of Esila Starcat

No Caption Provided

There are three starcats to find this week, and they're all scattered throughout some of the areas of the Dreaming City you might not go frequently. The first is in the Garden of Esila, which is attached to the southern end of The Strand. Ride your sparrow from the transmat zone until you reach The Strand and then turn left to find the entrance to the garden.

When you enter Esila, push forward through the area, killing Hive and Taken enemies as you go. Eventually you'll climb up a short staircase onto a raised dais, and then turn right along a cliff's edge to loop around to a higher area above the entrance to the garden. As you move along the cliff, you'll see another raised area with a small amount of water ringing it and a bridge.

Check under the bridge to find the starcat.

Harbinger's Seclude Starcat

No Caption Provided

Getting to Harbinger's Seclude can be a little confusing. There are multiple paths, but the easiest way is to make your way to Rheasilivia and head north toward the temple at the area's edge. Heading inside will take you to Harbinger's Seclude, but not the section you're looking for, as the area actually has two levels. As you enter the temple, you'll come into a large cave with a structure to the right, a statue right in front of you, and an obelisk near a cliff on your left. Head toward the obelisk.

When you get to the cliff's edge, look down over the side to a spot you can drop down to.

At the lower section, you'll see a portal, which takes you to The Confluence, where you'll be headed to next. Before that, though, go past the portal and follow the curving cave around into another large area. To your left are two small rooms with arched doorways set in the wall, and inside each is a table with a small ahamkara skull on it. Go into the left room and look behind the table to find the starcat.

The Confluence Starcat

No Caption Provided

Even more confusing than Harbinger's Seclude is the Confluence, an area that runs through the center of the Dreaming City that's a bit twisting and best accessed through a couple of portals scattered through the region. The good news is that, wherever you went for your last starcat--either Garden of Esila or Harbinger's Seclude--you're close to a portal. The Garden of Esila portal is at the top of the pathway that leads through the area, making it impossible to miss; the Harbinger's Seclude portal is right next to where you dropped down near the Rheasilvia entrance.

Once inside The Confluence, you'll mostly just want to make your way forward through the area. There are a few branching paths but aim to go downward and deeper.

Make your way to the big wall of Taken energy that marks the entrance to the Shattered Throne dungeon. The cat is sitting in front of it.

Week 5

(Not) Cell of the Sycophant Starcat

No Caption Provided

This week's Starcat is a bit confused. Though the Triumph lists the cat as being located in the Cell of the Sycophant in Riven's Lair, you'll find that there's no such hidden kitten in that location. Instead, it seems the Triumph is live for the Cell of the Sycophant, but the cat itself is actually located in the Spine of Keres in the Dreaming City. You can find and activate that Spine of Keres Starcat this week, which will trigger the next Triumph after the Cell of the Sycophant.

Spawn in at the Divalian Mists transmat zone in the Dreaming City and make your way north, exiting the area through the cave cut in the giant amethyst crystals. You're headed to the Oracle Engine, which is a straight shot following the path. You'll hit a courtyard with some Taken enemies in it, and beyond that, find a temple with some floating platforms on gyroscopic rings.

A Techeun, one of Mara Sov's Awoken witches, waits on the platform up on the left. Climb up to her to find the starcat sitting beside her.

We're still waiting for the Cell of the Sycophant starcat to show up.

Week 4

Reaver's Orison Starcat

No Caption Provided

This is another starcat hidden in Riven's Lair, so you'll need to play that activity or The Coil to find it. Reaver's Orison is the encounter in which you fight Vex who have locked up a Taken Ogre, in the location where you fight the Taken Ogre Morgeth in the Last Wish raid.

No Caption Provided

The Triumph description notes that the cat likes to "root around," which is your hint to look to the many trees in this area to find the cat. The tree you want is the gnarled one in the center of the dais on the right side of the arena.

No Caption Provided

Head around the back of the tree, toward the stairs on the far right side, to find the cat hidden near its base.

Week 3

Gnashing Chamber Starcat

No Caption Provided

There's only one Starcat this week, and it can be found in Riven's Lair or The Coil. The Gnashing Chamber is a battle against Scorn enemies, and if you're familiar with the Last Wish raid, you'll recognize the arena as the Vault encounter.

No Caption Provided

Look for the Starcat in the back-middle of the room, to the left of the entrance to the center antechamber with the set of stairs leading downward. It's sitting on a table next to the statue of another, larger cat.

Week 2

Temple of the Queen's Wrath Starcat

No Caption Provided

You'll need to head into The Coil or Riven's Lair to find this Starcat. The Temple of the Queen's Wrath is the room where you'll fight a mess of Taken enemies who spawn in waves in three different locations--the center of the room and in the two wings.

No Caption Provided

Look for the starcat at the back of the room in the center, behind the big crystal standing at the far end from where you enter.

Bay of Drowned Wishes Starcat

No Caption Provided

In the Dreaming City, make your way to the Bay of Drowned Wishes Lost Sector at the western end of the Divalian Mists area. Inside, make your way to the end where you fight the Scorn boss. Look up on the ledge to the right of the lost sector's loot cache to find the cat.

Aphelion's Rest Starcat

No Caption Provided

The Aphelion's Rest Lost Sector is found in the far eastern area of The Strand in the Dreaming City, under the rock that supports a big gazebo where you can sometimes find Petra Venj. Inside, push to the final boss and go past the Lost Sector cache to a big bowl just behind it with a tall headstone-like statue right behind it.

No Caption Provided

You'll find the cat inside the bowl, but slightly out of sight and easy to miss.

Chamber of Starlight Starcat

No Caption Provided

Make your way to the Rheasilvia area to find the Chamber of Starlight Lost Sector. It's in the south of the area, hidden among the cliffs near the exit into the Divalian Mists.

This cat is described as liking "to calculate gravity," but that doesn't really give you much in the way of information about where to find it. Make your way to the final room where you fight a mess of Taken, including a Taken Knight to your left near the lost sector's loot cache, and a Taken Wizard to your right. The Wizard is the boss of the lost sector.

No Caption Provided

Head toward the Wizard and look for a table at the end of this dais-looking section of the sector, near where the columns terminate when you're walking toward the cache. The cat is chilling out on the table, apparently absorbed in math homework.

Week 1

Blind Well Starcat

No Caption Provided

Head to the Blind Well to find the first Starcat. The description of its location tells you that it's waiting near "the door," so make your way to the far side of the Blind Well when you arrive--you want to go up the stairs to the back of the room, where you'll usually fight bosses.

No Caption Provided

There, you'll find a huge rounded door, with the cat sitting beside it on the floor.

Garden of Plenty Starcat

No Caption Provided

To get the second Starcat, you'll need to play the Riven's Lair seasonal activity and go to the area labeled the "Garden of Plenty." As the Triumph description says, you're looking for a cat that "likes to peer down from a place of power." To get there, however, you'll need to take a specific path through the activity.

No Caption Provided

When you start Riven's Lair, you'll see three portals. One of those portals will open at random when you step on the nearby plates, and that portal determines which encounters you'll see in your run through Riven's Lair. You want the left-most portal to open in order to get the Garden of Plenty encounter.

No Caption Provided

When you see this rock just before the stairs, turn left and look over the edge of the cliff.

Play through until you hit the Garden of Plenty, which is an outdoor area with trees and rocks flanking the sides. Make your way toward the raised dais at the far end of the area, where the Taken Ogre spawns alongside a bunch of Vex. Head to the left side of the area, where a cliff drops off into the abyss. The cat is hanging out on a ledge there, just below your line of sight.
