Not long before Brash Entertainment's abrupt implosion in 2008, the upstart publisher cofounded by Legendary Pictures CEO Thomas Tull said that it would be expanding its brand of game development into the television space. Its first TV-to-game publishing deal would be based on 20th Century Fox's hit show Prison Break, with Slovenian studio Zootfly on development duties.

Following Brash's collapse, Zootfly filed suit against the moribund publisher, making a claim for $748,000 for work completed on the game. That work has apparently continued, as Deep Silver said today that it has signed on to publish Zootfly's Prison Break on "next-gen consoles and the PC." Zootfly is perhaps best known for its unauthorized 2007 attempt at a Ghostbusters game.

Prison Break the game features a storyline that runs parallel with the first season of Fox's TV series. The game follows Company agent Tom Paxton, who is sent to Fox River State Penitentiary to investigate why TV series protagonist Michael Scofield is doing time for bank robbery. The game incorporates a number of characters from the TV show and also depicts a number of climactic first-season events from Paxton's perspective.

Deep Silver did not say when it expects Prison Break to arrive on retail shelves.
