Deadpool And Wolverine Director Responds To Rumor That Taylor Swift Is In The Movie

Swift is rumored to play Dazzler in the upcoming film.

One of the most intriguing rumors about Deadpool and Wolverine is that superstar Taylor Swift will be in the movie, playing the role of Dazzler. Director Shawn Levy was recently asked straight-up if Swift will be Dazzler in the movie, and he couldn't confirm or deny it. However, Levy did say he's excited by how fans are theorizing about the film's many cameos.

"You know I can't answer. All of America knows I can't answer that. That is hardly confirmed nor denied in this interview," he told Entertainment Tonight at CinemaCon this week.

Levy added: "The proliferation of rumors about who is and isn't in this movie--it's fabulous. No one will ever know the truth until July 26."

Karan Soni, who plays Dopinder in Deadpool and Wolverine, previously talked about how the film will have "a lot of surprises," including big-name cameos. "Let's just say a lot of people traveled to London [where the movie was filmed]."

Still, even with the newest Deadpool and Wolverine trailer, there's still no sign of Swift. That doesn't mean she (or any number of other famous faces) will pop up, though.

Levy previously discussed how easy it was to recruit big stars to come to London to film cameos for Deadpool and Wolverine.

"People love Deadpool. People love Ryan [Reynolds]. Thankfully, people also seem to like my work. They know that Ryan and I are in a groove of creative brotherhood that is unique and seems to be working," he said.

Deadpool and Wolverine releases in theaters this July. It is Marvel's one and only film coming in 2024, and that's intentional because Disney is trying to make fewer, better movies. DC, too, is only releasing one theatrical movie this year, and it's Joker: Folie à Deux.

In other Deadpool and Wolverine news, Marvel boss Kevin Feige dropped the F-bomb multiple times this week to promote the film, while we also learned the movie will have its own crude popcorn bucket.
