Not long it was teased that the Dead Rising movie might include an appearance by series mainstay Frank West, Legendary Pictures has announced comedian Rob Riggle will play the role of West in the film.

Legendary today announced four additions to the cast of Dead Rising: Watchtower today, the most notable of which is Riggle. The former Daily Show correspondent (and US Marine Corps Reserve officer) has appeared in a number of movies and TV shows, ranging from 21 Jump Street to Arrested Development.

The other new cast members include Harley Morenstein (best known for his work on YouTube channel Epic Meal Time), Keegan Connor Tracey (Bates Motel, Final Destination 2), and Aleks Paunovic (This Means War). Paunovic plays biker gang leader Logan; Morenstein plays Pyro, Logan's second-in-command; and Tracey plays a journalist named Jordan.

Other, previously announced actors include Dennis Haysbert, Jesse Metcalfe, Virginia Madsen, and Meghan Ory.

Today's announcement also offered a brief outline of the story, which centers around--what else--a zombie outbreak. When the government's vaccine fails, the four lead characters try to avoid becoming infected while investigating the outbreak, which may be the government's doing.

Watchtower was first announced this summer as a full-length digital movie. Rather than release in theaters, it'll debut on Sony's Crackle streaming service before heading to DVD and video-on-demand services. Director Zach Lipovsky, who recently described the movie as "Indiana Jones with zombies," has said the movie takes place between Dead Rising 2 and Dead Rising 3.

Watchtower does not yet have a release date, but filming is underway.
