Dark Souls Trilogy Is Not Coming To Europe

At least Dark Souls: Remastered on Switch is still coming.

There seems to have been some confusion with the announcement of the Dark Souls Trilogy. The assumption was that the trilogy would land in all regions--but as it turns out, that's wrong. This collection of action-RPGs will only release in the US and Asia.

A spokesperson for publisher Bandai Namco confirmed the news in a statement: "To clarify, the Dark Souls Trilogy release date announcement yesterday (August 21st) was a US and Asia announcement only, and was not a Gamescom announcement in Europe. Dark Souls fans in Europe can still get their fix on October 19th--with the release of Dark Souls: Remastered for the Nintendo Switch console."

The Dark Souls Trilogy will launch October 19 on PS4 and Xbox One with a retail price of $80 USD. It will be comprised of Dark Souls: Remastered, Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin, and Dark Souls III: The Fire Fades Edition. That's all of the Dark Souls games, each one complete with all of the DLC. Physical copies will come in a steelbook case. Developer From Software's PlayStation exclusives Demon's Souls and Bloodborne are not included in the set.

As noted above, From Software will still release Dark Souls: Remastered on Nintendo Switch in Europe, as well as its upcoming game Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, which is scheduled to launch on March 22, 2019. For more information on the latter, you can watch 10 minutes of Sekiro gameplay and read about how it's not just another Dark Souls.
