Dark Souls 2 developers 'have not put any thought into' Xbox One, PS4 versions

simply put not releasing a next gen version of any game planned for PS3/360 is just dumb.

I just traded my older PS3 in and bought a new PS3 just to ensure it would be around for the release of this game.

this is kind of good news they don't care about other BS and are focusing and doing it right with DS2. But this article is practically pointless...its an article about how people don't care about something....Quit using gamespot like 6 months ago b/c of this type of stupidity, the switch from a dark to an over-bright background, and the awful new format....Definitely made the right decision. BAAARF on Gamespot. There are much better sites out there.

From Software is gaining some good karma.

not that this has anything to do with from software specifically, but about a year and a half, maybe 2 years ago, gamespot was running articles almost daily, about developers saying that the 360/ps3 capabilities were hurting the gaming industry, that they were holding back gaming and limiting creativity. Im not saying that there isn't some fact to that, but where is the support now that the new consoles are out? I'm not saying its all bad but damn look at the game lineup for 2014, I just don't see any leaps and bounds on the creative end, adding textures and particles increasing draw distances and remaking last gen games with updated graphics is not what I thought they meant by "Creativity". If you look at the games recently released (Gta5,Gran Turismo, Tomb raider, Bioshock, Etc etc etc) all of these Big AAA franchises released games either last year or the year before, now take into consideration that these games take Years to make, and consider that devs are saying that next gen games (current gen) take significantly longer to develop. Where does that really leave us?.... End of rant.

Still waiting for Demon's Souls on PC..

Hmm i'm worried they are trying to rush the PS3 and 360 versions, hopefully this time they really do make a decent PC version.

Thats kind of silly of them. I mean yes there are a lot more last gen consoles but I'm sure they would move a lot of these for the current gen with the game drought.

I like how everyone thinks "omg they are so stupid for not porting this to *next*-gen" , while they fail to realize the majority of people is still happily holding onto *old*-gen

Well they've lost a sale from me, if the original only sold 2m copies how many of them serious gamers have upgraded and sold there ps3/360 to fund there new purchase? I'd say quite a few.

If it's any consolation the game does have checkpoints, more than most games they just didn't want you to use them(PC users can easily though). Though I wish they'd give people the option, even a single checkpoint heading into a boss fight would have kept some gamers from giving up.
