Cyberpunk 2077 is getting an Ultimate Edition, and it's launching soon. This new version of the game that includes the base game and the Phantom Liberty expansion arrives on December 5.

It'll be available that day for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC, both digitally and on a physical disc (but only on Xbox). An Ultimate Edition of Cyberpunk 2077 had been rumored for some time; it's expected to cost $60. The Ultimate Edition comes on a disc for Xbox only; the PS5 version includes a code, while the PC edition is downloadable as well.

Cyberpunk 2077 originally released in December 2020, and while it broke sales records out of the gate, it was also marred by major issues. Sony even pulled the game from the PlayStation Store because it deemed the issues to be that serious. Developer CD Projekt Red has supported the game in the months and years after launch, and the game is in a much better state these days.

The Phantom Liberty expansion, which stars Idris Elba, released at the end of September and was very highly regarded. There was also a major 2.0 update for Cyberpunk 2077 that was well received. Phantom Liberty is the one and only expansion for Cyberpunk 2077. Despite that, Cyberpunk 2077 was nominated for Best Ongoing Game at The Game Awards.

Cyberpunk 2077 has sold more than 25 million copies to become one of the most commercially successful video games in history.

A Cyberpunk 2077 sequel is now in development. It is one of many games in the works at CD Projekt Red; others include a new Witcher trilogy and a new IP.
