Concert Celebrating Final Fantasy Composer Nobuo Uematsu To Be Held In UK
London Symphony Orchestra celebrating music of Final Fantasy, Lost Odyssey, and more.
Final Fantasy's music catalog will be getting a live performance later this year, and from the London Symphony Orchestra no less.
Symphonic Odysseys London is a show celebrating the work of legendary Final Fantasy series composer Nobuo Uematsu. His track record includes the original Final Fantasy as well as Final Fantasy VII, VIII, X, and XIV, among others. He also composed the Xbox 360-exclusive JRPGs Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey, and they will be celebrated at the event.
The show will include arrangements from the composers of Final Symphony-- the 2015 album celebrating Final Fantasy music from throughout the series' lifetime. Uematsu himself will attend the performance to take part in a Q&A session with the audience in a separately ticketed, pre-show event.
Tickets for the show--which is being held at the Barbican Centre in June--go on sale at 10 AM GMT on February 10. To book, click here.
Final Fantasy's music has been much celebrated over the years. In 2016, another album was released, while a European Final Symphony tour is ongoing.
In other Final Fantasy news, publisher Square Enix has said the series' latest, Final Fantasy XV, broke even on development costs in just 24 hours. GameSpot's Final Fantasy XV review scored it an 8/10. Reviewer Peter Brown said it is a "fascinating game" with a "beautiful world and exciting challenges."
Square Enix has also talked about possibly bringing Final Fantasy XV to PC. It is currently available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
