Westwood Studios has released new screenshots from its upcoming action game Command & Conquer Renegade. The game is set in the popular Command & Conquer universe, and it will let players assume the role of Havoc, a GDI commando. According to Westwood, the game will play according to the same rules as the Command & Conquer real-time strategy games--if Havoc destroys a SAM site, air reinforcements will be more likely to arrive, but the explosion will give away his position to the enemy. The same NOD and GDI units that appear in the strategy games will appear in Renegade, so players will be able to experience driving a GDI tank through a town first-hand. In addition to an extensive single-player campaign, Renegade will feature several multiplayer modes, including deathmatch, capture the flag, and king of the hill.

According to the developer, Command & Conquer Renegade will be feature-complete by the end of February, and the team will then focus exclusively on balancing and polishing the game before its release, which is scheduled for June. For more information about Renegade, take a look at our in-depth previews of the game and visit the official Westwood Web site for the complete developer update.
