Comic-Con 2018: Mega Man: Fully Charged Animated Series Gets New Trailer
Mega Man is coming to Cartoon Network.
Mega Man: Fully Charged is an upcoming animated series based on Capcom's Mega Man video game franchise. A new trailer for the show premiered at San Diego Comic-Con 2018, giving us an extended look at the series' protagonist and the type of threats he'll face.
Mega Man: Fully Charged will follow the adventures of Aki Light, a robotic boy who can transform into the hero Mega Man. Aki protects Silicon City from the villainous Sgt. Night and his Robot Masters, a group of evil robots that Mega Man fans will recognize from the games. Mega Man's friends from the games, like Rush the dog, pop up in the show too, and new allies like Mega Mini will also offer Aki support. Not that it looks like he'll need it, as the new trailer for Fully Charged shows that this version of Mega Man still has the ability to absorb and use the weapons and abilities of the robots he defeats.
Mega Man: Fully Charged is scheduled to premier on Cartoon Network on August 5. The series is 26 episodes long, making it much longer than the Mega Man Star Force animated series that aired on Cartoon Network back in 2007.
Mega Man returns to gaming this year as well. Mega Man 11 is the first Mega Man game in the main franchise since 2010's Mega Man 10. Fans have had to tide themselves over with Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1+2 in the eight year gap. Featuring voice acting, a 2.5D graphic style, and updated 3D polygonal characters and environments, Mega Man 11 is one of the slickest-looking Mega Man games to date. It will be coming to Xbox One, PS4, Switch, and PC on October 2 in Japan and October 4 in other regions.
