Comments

A new update arrived to both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone on March 13. This small update includes quality-of-life changes, bug fixes, and some nerfs for Season 2's most overpowered attachments. Here's everything you need to know.

For Modern Warfare 3, the Skidrow map now has additional spawn points for Hardpoint, which the developer says were added to decrease the probability of an unfavorable spawn flip.

The Priceless camo challenge for Season 2 Reloaded's new SOA Subverter battle rifle should now be properly tracking, and the gun's Gilded mastery challenge now displays the correct requirements.

Some changes were made to specific weapon attachments, which includes a nerf for the JAK Maglift Kit conversion kit for the Haymaker shotgun. This change gives a 40% increase to minimum hip fire spread, a 41% increase to maximum hip fire spread, and a 40% increase to the tactical stance spread.

The once powerful JAK Tyrant 762 Kit conversion kit for the Longbow sniper rifle is also nerfed. The update removes the attachment's 30% hip fire spread benefit, and it adds a 21% increase to the aim-down-sight time.

Additionally, the new JAK Glassless Optic aftermarket part is now restricted from use in the multiplayer Ranked Play mode.

For Zombies, the update corrects an issue that prevented Elder Sigils from dropping in the Season 2 Dark Aether Rift if players had not completed the Season 1 Dark Aether Rift. It also addressed an issue that would knock back Containment Levels by one Tier when a player exfiled from the Dark Aether Rifts.

The Warzone update nerfs the cluster mine killstreak. It now requires two mines from a cluster mine to down a full-plated player, and a player with no armor plates will only be downed by one mine from a cluster mine.

Warzone also has similar weapon adjustments as multiplayer with a nerf to the JAK Maglift Kit for the Haymaker, and the nerf to the JAK Tyrant 762 Kit for the Longbow sniper rifle.

Small bug fixes include a correction for an issue that caused the Bunker Buster killstreak to fire from the incorrect position when on a moving platform, and a fix for a collision issue on Fortune's Keep that allowed players an exploit under the map.

The full patch notes for Warzone and Modern Warfare 3 can be found below, as shared by Activision.

    • In Hardpoint, additional spawn points were added to decrease the probability of an unfavorable flip.

One of many factors in spawn selection is to avoid a spawn trap. When a player dies soon after respawning, that spawn point is temporarily deprioritized. If there are not enough safe spawn points available, a spawn flip is more likely to occur.

By adding additional spawn points, the system has more safe options available, decreasing the chance of a spawn flip.
