What to expect from Season 5 Reloaded

Season 5 already introduced the Carrack .300 sniper rifle and FR Avancer assault rifle as new weapons in the battle pass, but Activision already teased that a new submachine gun, pistol, and a melee weapon will be added later with in-game challenges.

Like past Reloaded updates, there will be new camo and event challenges to complete. Midseason updates usually include plenty of shop bundles, weapon balancing, and bug fixes as well. Tomb Raider's Lara Croft is getting a Call of Duty crossover for Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone sometime in the near future, so it's possible her operator bundle will arrive with Season 5 Reloaded.

Warzone

Warzone 1's Armored Royale mode returns. Squads will drop down on their own armored MRAP vehicle, and they can use, fortify, and repair this vehicle, while fighting off opposing squads with their own armored vehicles.

Additionally, players will have another Resurgence map option. Fort Resurgence is the respawn-based mode that will be limited to Al Mazrah's Al Bagra Fortress POI. The map will be in rotation with Vondel and Ashika Island Resurgence playlists.

Modern Warfare 2

Season 5 Reloaded will add a new multiplayer map. DRC – Zone 1 is a core 6v6 map based on a portion of the Building 21 excursion zone in DMZ, and it's described as a small-sized map with a focus on fast-paced combat.

New game modes are also arriving with the update. Gunfight Snipers will bring a sniper-focused variant to the 2v2 mode. This mode will limit players' loadouts to sniper or marksman rifles. Secondary weapons, tacticals, and lethal equipment will be unavailable.

Another Gunfight variant is being added with Armored Gunfight mode, which makes a drastic change with players starting with 150 HP of armor and 100 health. Additionally, players won't have replacement plates or health regeneration to heal up. All other Gunfight rules still apply here.

Faceoff 4v4 is another small mode on Gunfight maps, but described as fast-action, small-team cage matches, and these will give players the freedom to use their own loadouts to play modes like Team Deathmatch and Kill Confirmed. Just like Gunfight, no killstreaks will be available on these small maps.

Modern Warfare 2 will have one final season before the new game arrives. Make sure to check out all the major announcements for Modern Warfare 3, including the return of iconic maps, open-world Zombies mode, and more. Modern Warfare 3 recently had campaign gameplay revealed during Opening Night Live at Gamescom, showcasing gameplay from the mission Operation 627 and announcing the October beta dates.
