New content is coming to Call of Duty: Warzone 2 in Season 2, and the big update will include the brand-new Ashika Island map. The full map was revealed on January 31, with close-ups of a few points of interest being shared in a series of tweets.

Ashika Island is a smaller, secondary map designed for Warzone 2's Resurgence respawn modes and DMZ. Ashika Island features seven main points of interest, and while it's hard to determine just from the overhead layout, the map size should be comparable to past Resurgence maps of Rebirth Island and Fortune's Keep.

One notable point of interest includes Treyarch's Castle map, which was originally featured in Call of Duty: World at War and was resmastered for a return in Vanguard. Rebranded as Tsuki Castle, players will find the classic location at the center of Ashika Island.

Additionally, the Town Center location features plenty of cover with clusters of shops in the marketplace, while there's some sand and open sightlines for the Beach Club point of interest. Players should be able to take advantage of Modern Warfare 2's swimming mechanics, as there are plenty of areas with water, such as the flooded caverns of the Underground Waterway.

Season 2 launches on February 15 for Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2. In addition to Ashika Island, players can expect DMZ mode to get wiped for a fresh start, a traditional 1v1 Gulag for the Al Mazrah map, plenty of quality-of-life improvements, and more.

On the multiplayer side, Call of Duty's Hardcore multiplayer mode is finally arriving in Modern Warfare 2. Ranked Play is also being added for those looking for a more competitive mode.
