When do the event producers at International Data Group find the time to sleep?

The group that is already under contract to produce the upcoming E3 Media Festival, as well as E for All, its own game industry event aimed at consumers, today picked up a third event to produce--Game Developers Conference China.

The inaugural event, to be jointly produced by GDC owners CMP Technology and IDG, will take place August 27-29 in Shanghai.

The event will feature content programmed by an advisory board made up of Chinese developers, CMP Technology said today.

"A Game Developers Conference in China is long overdue," Hugo Shong, president and CEO of IDG Asia, said in a statement. "At long last, there will be an opportunity for Asian and Western gamemakers to discover everything that the Chinese game market has to offer."
