Encore Software has announced that its chariot racing game Circus Maximus has gone gold. The game features seven environments spread out across the Roman Empire, including several different tracks within each environment, such as Circus Maximus, which is located in the city of Rome. Before the start of each race, players will be able to choose from several different chariots, as well as different drivers and warriors, who stand at the back of the chariot to fend off contenders. However, during a race, players must learn to maintain their balance while riding the chariot, or they risk losing control and ultimately losing the race. Circus Maximus also has two head-to-head multiplayer modes and a flour-player cooperative multiplayer mode.

The game is scheduled for release at the end of February.
