Electronic Arts confirmed last week's reports that Denver Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony will adorn the cover of NBA Live 2005. Anthony was previously the cover athlete for NCAA March Madness 2004, after he led Syracuse to the 2003 NCAA title. NBA Live 2005 is set to ship for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube, and PC in October.

"[It] is an incredible honor. I grew up loving EA Sports, especially NBA Live. To think that I could now be on the cover and help introduce a new generation to NBA Live is an awesome feeling," said Anthony, who was the leading rookie scorer last year.

EA Sports also announced two alternate cover athletes for international editions of NBA Live 2005. San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker and Memphis Grizzlies forward Pau Gasol were also announced as the cover athletes for their respective native countries, France and Spain.
