Capcom Loses the Middleman
Capcom restructures its distribution channels in Japan.
Japanese publication Nihon Kezai Shimbun reports that Capcom of Japan will assume the distribution responsibilities for its video game products. The company will eliminate the middleman by circumventing the distribution channels currently managed by console manufacturers. Capcom expects the move will boost its profit margin by four to five percent and will allow it to increase efficiency in responding to retailer needs.
