Call of Duty is gearing up for the first full season of Modern Warfare 3, which includes the game's integration with Warzone. The December 6 update brings the new Urzikstan map, holiday LTM, and new features to the battle royale.

A new season of Call of Duty means a new battle pass to level up. The Season 1 pass for Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone includes a new battle pass to level up and unlock more weapons, operators, and cosmetics. The season's new operators are Nolan and Dokkaebi, and there will be five free new weapons and nine aftermarket parts to unlock.

Additionally, the $30 premium BlackCell pass returns, which includes the new Abolisher operator, extra tier skips, alternate BlackCell-exclusive skins earned throughout the pass, and more. New shop bundles were announced for The Boys, Dune, and Santa. Players can also expect new daily, prestige, and seasonal challenges.

Season 1 replaces Al Mazrah with the new Urzikstan map. Urzikstan features 11 named points of interest, and the map is currently available to play in MW3's Zombies. In addition to the standard battle royale map, players can continue playing Ashika Island and Vondel maps in their Resurgence modes. However, these smaller maps will disappear and return 48 hours after the launch of Season 1, meaning Urzikstan is the only available map for the first two days of the season.

The new season also brings the integration of Modern Warfare 3's features such as the movement mechanics and classic red dots on the mini map. There will be new ways to traverse the map with features like horizontal ziplines and a drivable train.

Urzikstan features a new Gulag. This new 1v1 arena features a simple three-lane design but does include some randomization, as there is a nighttime version where players get night-vision goggles. Instead of capturing a flag, players can connect to an ascender to zip out of the arena.

New gameplay improvements were also announced. This includes the ability to manually choose when to equip the gas mask, the return of Warzone 1's loot rarity, and better visibility for water combat. Additionally, players will now be equipped with a backup pistol, which is a dedicated pistol available for combat situations when swimming, climbing ladders, and ledge hanging.

Warzone shows some holiday spirit for Season 1 with the Santa's Slayground event. During this time there will be a limited-time mode where players can encounter "Zombie Santa", go undead deer hunting, open presents under holiday trees, complete new event challenges, and more.

Modern Warfare 3's big seasonal update includes brand-new core maps, the return of Gunfight, and new LTMs. Zombies mode is getting a new story act to complete, Dark Aether Rifts to explore, more schematics to unlock, and a new Wonder Weapon.
