Activision has teased that a basketball player is coming to the Call of Duty series as a new playable Operator, and fans believe they know who it is: Kevin Durant.

The teaser video includes the handle Easy Money Sniper, which is Durant's handle on Instagram. Additionally, the Call of Duty Facebook page uploaded a placeholder video with the file name KD_Teaser, so we're pretty sure it's the Phoenix Suns star.

We will know for sure soon, as Activision said this new Operator will come to Modern Warfare II, Warzone 2, and COD Mobile in May.

Durant, or whoever it turns out to be, won't be the first famous professional athlete to show up as an Operator in Call of Duty. To celebrate the World Cup last year, Activision added Messi, Paul Pogba, and Neymar to the series as playable characters for a limited time.

Durant is a big-time video game player and fan of Call of Duty specifically. He told David Letterman in 2022 that he wants to create his own COD esports team one day.

Activision Blizzard's recent earnings announcement showed that Call of Duty game sales continued to grow in the latest quarter. Activision also confirmed that it will release a new "premium" Call of Duty game this year, but the title has yet to be announced.

Activision Blizzard shareholders were dealt some bad news recently when the UK announced it would not allow Microsoft's purchase of the company to go through. Microsoft and Activision Blizzard plan to appeal. For more, check out GameSpot's breakdown of what happens next.
