Call Of Duty: MW3 Zombies - How To Get The Ray Gun And Wunderwaffe DG-2 Schematics

MW3 Zombies adds two iconic Wonder Weapons, and our guide will show you how to craft them.

Comments

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 might not include a classic Zombies experience, but you can still find iconic Wonder Weapons in this new large-scale extraction game mode. Our guide will help you find the Ray Gun and Wunderwaffe DG-2 schematics so you can craft these powerful fan-favorite weapons for yourself.

Wonder Weapon Schematics

You can get lucky and score the Ray Gun and Wunderwaffe DG-2 weapons in the Mystery Box, but Modern Warfare 3 Zombies actually lets you craft these items, so you can have them available when you need them most.

You have a chance to earn the Ray Gun or Wunderwaffe DG-2 Plans by completing any contract in the high-threat zone. One of the best ones to try is the HVT Bounty contract, which has you fighting the Mega Abomination boss.

Once the contract is complete, check the purple reward rift to see if you got a Wonder Weapon schematic. All of your teammates see their own rift rewards, so don't worry about fighting over who gets the claim the schematic. You only see your rewards, and your teammates will have their own.

You need to successfully exfil with the schematic in order to permanently unlock the crafting ability. There is a cooldown once you craft the schematics, and with these Wonder Weapons being so powerful, expect a pretty lengthy cooldown timer. You'll need to wait 48 hours before crafting another one.

Additionally, there is a story mission called Holdout found in Act 3, Tier 4. This requires you to activate an Outlast contract (the satellite dish icon) and kill 50 zombies inside this corrupted area. The specific reward for this mission is the Wunderwaffe DG-2 Plans.

Once the contract is complete, the reward rift should contain the Wunderwaffe DG-2 Plans. If it doesn't, go complete another Outlast contract and kill more zombies in the corrupted area. Check the reward rift again.

Tips for getting geared up fast

The high-threat zone is brutal with sprinting zombies, and these enemies are bullet sponges like you'd find at round 55+ of traditional Zombies. You want to make sure you're in a squad and properly geared up to fight in this high-threat zone.

Juggernog perk
Juggernog perk

You want items like sentry gun killstreaks, a 3-plate vest, and high-rarity weapons that are double or triple Pack-a-Punched. You also want to equip essential perks like Juggernog, Speed Cola, Quick Revive, and Stamina Up. Field upgrades like Healing Aura can be very helpful as well.

Getting beefed up with all the best gear can eat up a lot of your match time, but you can cut down on this time by saving up perks and Aetherium Crystals acquisitions. Spend a match or two just completing contracts and saving up the crystals and perks you'll need. Then, you can load into a new match and have these perks activated at the start, and you'll only need to get a weapon with a high rarity to use your Aetherium Crystals on for upgrades.

Note: You can't extract and keep the Ray Gun or Wunderwaffe DG-2 weapons themselves. You will lose Wonder Weapons at extraction. You can only exfil and store the weapon cases (a one-time use activation) for a Wonder Weapon or the schematics to craft your own.

The new Scorcher Wonder Weapon isn't craftable, but we have a guide on all the ways you can get your hands on the Scorcher.
