Bungie Says To Enjoy Destiny 2's 12-Person Raid Glitch While It Lasts

A fix is coming, but until then Bungie is encouraging Guardians to knock themselves out with this wild glitch--though it warns of potential weirdness.

Bungie knows that Destiny 2 players are glitching their way into sprawling 12-person raids, and it has publicly stated how it feels about the whole debacle: pretty good, actually. The studio says that a fix is incoming sometime in the next week, but until that happens you can have fun bending the rules a little, as a treat.

In the weekly Bungie update, the studio says it's glad players are enjoying themselves and it's fine to try it out. But at the same time, it warns that you could run into bugs since the raids weren't designed for "a clown car of Guardians."

"The big buzz around the community this week has been players finding out a way to cram four fireteams in activities meant for one," the studio stated. "We've been watching the 12-player raid hype and are glad you’re enjoying yourselves. We aren't rushing out a fix for this and it's totally fine if you want to try it out and have some fun. Just keep in mind that we didn't create these activities expecting a clown car of Guardians to roll up, so you may experience some weirdness."

Bungie doesn't state exactly when it plans to fix the Raids to be less MMO-styled, but it does say it will be sometime before the Grandmaster Nightfalls start on March 16.

Typically a raid takes place with just six players. This bug allows four fireteams to go together, for a total of 12. This appears to have popped up sometime just after the recent 3.1.0.2 update.

Meanwhile, Bungie has big plans for Destiny 2, saying it will be expanding the property into other media. It's also planning to launch a new IP by 2025.
