Bloodborne, Dark Souls Dev From Software Teases New Game

From Software is back.

Just before the official start of The Game Awards, Dark Souls and Bloodborne developer From Software offered a tease of its latest game with a short, 10-second teaser. Very little is known about the game, as all that was shown was a bloody rope wrapped around a spoke between what appears to be two bones. The background showcased what appears to be parchment with inked script, but none of the elements provide a clear hint as to the game in question. Recently, From Software confirmed that it is working on a new Armored Core game, though the video shown is a far cry from what we expect from that particular series.

The only detail that did stand out as a potential link was the phrase: "Shadows Die Twice." It's not clear if this is the title, or just a tagline.

Now Playing: From Software - New Project Teaser

In September 2016, From Software president and creator Hidetaka Miyazaki stated that in addition to working on a new Armored Core game, the company was also developing a "weird" game. "When I say 'weird,' the genre might be a little weird," he explained. "The game is weird. But we are diligently making it in all seriousness, so I just want people to know that when they think it's strange."

During the same interview, Miyazaki also stated: "For me, Dark Souls III is the end, but that doesn't mean the end for Dark Souls. If someone other than myself, like another staff member, wants to make a Dark Souls, then I don't want to deny others from making future installments."
