Blizzard Clarifies How Diablo 4's Mounts Will Work
Blizzard recently clarified how mounts work in Diablo IV, and how they're fully customizable and shared between all characters on your profile.
Diablo IV's Server Slam beta is coming up very soon, which led fans to wonder how mounts will work in the game. In a recent tweet, Diablo's community development director Adam Fletcher explained that mounts will be shared between all characters that a player creates on their profile, among other details.

In the above tweet, Fletcher notes that mounts are unlocked by progressing in the main story of Diablo IV. From there, mounts can be customized with armor and trophies that players earn by participating in certain events and completing quests. Blizzard's wording in the original version of the post made it sound like you may have to complete the entire campaign to get a mount, but this isn't the case.
Fletcher says that those who participate in the Server Slam beta have a chance to earn the Cry of Ashava Mount Trophy. These trophies transform the visual appearance of your mount, and there are dozens of them to unlock in the game.
Diablo IV's community team has clarified a lot of aspects of the game in recent days ahead of May's Server Slam. We learned that the game will not have a map overlay, in an attempt to help players navigate the world in a more organic way. We also know that any progress earned in the Server Slam will not be transferable to the game's full launch. Diablo IV launches on June 6 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, and PC. The Server Slam beta runs from May 12-14 and is playable on all the above platforms.
