Black Hawk Down beta released

NovaLogic releases one multiplayer test map from its tactical shooter that's freely playable for two weeks.

NovaLogic has announced the start of the public beta test for Black Hawk Down, a game set during the UN peacekeeping action in Somalia in the early 1990s. The downloadable multiplayer beta contains one daytime map and is free to the public until August 16, when the file will expire. The test allows up to 32 players on official NovaLogic servers and 16 players on other servers. The code is said to be unoptimized and has higher system requirements than the final game will: a 1.2GHz CPU, 256MB of memory, and a GeForce3 card or better.

Black Hawk Down is schedule for release for PC at the end of the year and on the PlayStation 2 and Xbox in early 2003. For more information, take a look at our previous coverage of the game.
