Black bringing in green

Destruction-minded Xbox and PlayStation 2 shooter from developer of Burnout now officially available in stores.

While there were reports of some stores jumping the gun (so to speak) on Black's release date last week, EA today has announced that the game is officially out and should be available at retailers across North America.

Described by its developers as "gun porn," Black is a first-person shooter set in Eastern Europe, much of which can be chewed apart by the player's hail of gunfire. Gamers will assume the role of Sergeant Jack Kellar, a black ops agent who recalls a series of missions through film noir-ish flashbacks. Those missions are composed of a harrowing series of firefights in a series of neglected ex-Eastern Bloc locales, and they feature a whole arsenal of weapons, including combat shotguns and AK-47s.

Black is rated M for Mature and retails for $39.95. For more on the game, check out GameSpot's full review.
