Better Call Saul Brings Back Walter White And Jesse Pinkman For Final Season

Better Call Saul is returning for its sixth and final season this month, and ahead of that, AMC has confirmed a massive new detail. Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul are set to return to play their Breaking Bad characters Walter White and Jesse Pinkman.

Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad are set in the same universe and have crossed over before. A prequel to Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul has so far introduced characters like Gus (Giancarlo Esposito) and Mike (Johnathan Banks). Many were wondering if Walt and Jesse would show up at some point, and now it's confirmed that the meth-cooking pair will indeed make an appearance in some capacity.

This was confirmed at the Paleyfest event this weekend by showrunner Peter Gould. Cranston and Paul will have guest starring roles, so their involvement won't be extensive, but they will appear.

"How or the circumstances or anything, you'll just have to discover that for yourself, but I have to say that's one of many things that I think you'll discover this season," Gould said, via Variety.

Bob Odenkirk, who plays Saul Goodman, said that Better Call Saul Season 6 will even further meld Breaking Bad with Better Call Saul. "I personally feel that the two shows--Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul--are entwined even more than ever in the final season. And I think that's surprising and cool, and it's gonna make you want to watch Breaking Bad again," he said.

Better Call Saul returns April 18 on AMC for its final run of episodes. Seasons 1-5 are currently streaming on Netflix, so that might be helpful if you're looking to catch up or re-watch the show before the new season debuts.
