Best Honkai: Star Rail Argenti Build: Skills And Team Comps

Idrila the Beauty's biggest fan.

Comments

Aeons, the equivalent of gods in Honkai: Star Rail, have been around since the beginning of time. However, not all of them have survived through the years. Argenti is a Knight of Beauty, one of the most devout followers of Idrila, Aeon of Beauty. There's just one problem: Idrila of Beauty is said to have fallen long ago. Despite his devotion to a largely abandoned Path, Argenti might be the most competitive Erudition character yet. Here's what to know about his abilities and how to build him.

Argenti abilities

Argenti's playstyle revolves around his energy and Ultimate. He can use his Ultimate after charging 90 Energy or 180 Energy, depending on which one you want to use. Energy refers to the meter for your Ultimate, which fills up when attacking enemies or taking damage. His Talent allows him to charge his Ultimate much faster than the average character.

As an Erudition character, Argenti specializes in attacking multiple targets rather than single ones like specific bosses. He's an ideal DPS for farming waves and participating in battles with many enemies (e.g. Calyxes, Echo of War bosses, etc.).

Basic attack: Fleeting Fragrance

Argenti deals 50 percent of his ATK as Physical DMG to one enemy.

Skill: Justice, Hereby Blooms

Argenti deals 60 percent of his ATK as Physical DMG to all enemies.

Ultimate: For In This Garden Supreme Beauty Bestows

Argenti has two stages to his Ultimate. The first one only takes 90 Energy and the other stronger one takes 180 Energy. You can differentiate based on the two circles around his Ult meter and the flower icon, which blooms into a flower when he reaches 180.

For In This Garden Supreme Beauty Bestows consumes 90 Energy and deals 96 percent of Argenti's ATK as Physical DMG to all enemies. Meanwhile, Merit Bestowed in "My" Garden consumes 180 Energy and deals 168 percent of Argenti's ATK as Physical DMG instead. It also deals DMG equal to 57 percent of Argenti's ATK to a random enemy six extra times.

Talent: Sublime Object

Argenti regenerates 3 Energy and gains one stack of Apotheosis for every enemy he hits with his Basic ATK, Skill, or Ultimate. Each stack of Apotheosis raises his CRIT Rate by 1 percent up to 10 times.

Technique: Manifesto of Purest Virtue

Argenti inflicts enemies in the area with Daze, a status effect that stops enemies from attacking. He deals Physical DMG equal to 80 percent of his ATK and regenerates his energy by 15.

Ascension Passives

  • Ascension 2 Passive--Piety: At the start of a turn, immediately gains 1 stack of Apotheosis.
  • Ascension 4 Passive--Generosity: When enemy targets enter battle, immediately regenerates 2 Energy for self.
  • Ascension 6 Passive--Courage: Deals 15 percent more DMG to enemies at 50 percent HP or lower.

Best Light Cone for Argenti

An Instant Before A Gaze is a great boon, but four-star alternatives are more cost-effective.
An Instant Before A Gaze is a great boon, but four-star alternatives are more cost-effective.

Like any other DPS, Argenti benefits from higher ATK, Crit Rate, and Crit DMG. His fully-charged Ultimate hits the hardest out of his skills, so boosting the damage from his Ult increases Argenti's overall utility.

An Instant Before A Gaze, Argenti's signature Light Cone, capitalizes on the relationship between Argenti's Ultimate and max energy. It raises his overall CRIT DMG by 36 percent. On top of that, it increases his Ultimate DMG by 0.36 percent per point of max energy up to 180. Argenti maxes out at 180 energy, so that's a 64.8 percent increase in Ultimate DMG.

Night on the Milky Way, the main standard banner five-star Light Cone, also works well with Argenti. It raises the wearer's ATK by 9 percent for each enemy on the field, so it works especially well during multi-target battles. However, one of the other four-star Light Cones below will do.

Today Is Another Peaceful Day also leans into the Energy angle with its ability to increase DMG by 0.20 percent per point of Energy. Argenti can reach all the way up to 180 Energy, but this one will stop at 160 Energy. That's at least 32 percent if you multiply 160 by 0.20. Unfortunately, it's a Battle Pass Light Cone. You can only get it if you want to pay for it.

Make the World Clamor, another four-star Light Cone, increases Ultimate DMG by 32 percent at Level 1. If you max level it, then it can go as high as a 64 percent Ultimate DMG increase. That's basically the same as An Instant Before A Gaze, but that five-star Light Cone offers more with its Crit DMG buff and additional HP, DEF, and ATK increases.

You can use The Seriousness of Breakfast as a free-to-play alternative. It technically isn't as strong as Today Is Another Peaceful Day, but you can get it to at least a 24 percent DMG increase if you superimpose it to its highest level. You also receive an additional attack bonuses based on how many enemies the wearer defeats.

These are the descriptions for each Light Cone mentioned above (at Level 1):

  • An Instant Before A Gaze (5-star): Increases the wearer's CRIT DMG by 36 percent. When the wearer uses Ultimate, increases the wearer's Ultimate DMG based on their max energy. Each point of Energy increases the Ultimate DMG by 0.36 percent, up to 180 points of Energy.
  • Night on the Milky Way (5-star): For every enemy on the field, increases the wearer's ATK by 9.0 percent, up to 5 stacks. When an enemy is inflicted with Weakness Break, the DMG dealt by the wearer increases by 30 percent for 1 turn.
  • Today Is Another Peaceful Day (4-star): After entering battle, increases the wearer's DMG based on their Max Energy. DMG increases by 0.20 percent per point of Energy, up to 160 Energy.
  • Make the World Clamor (4-star): The wearer regenerates 20 Energy immediately upon entering battle, and increases Ultimate DMG by 32 percent.
  • The Seriousness of Breakfast (4-star): Increases the wearer's DMG by 12 percent. For every defeated enemy, the wearer's ATK increases by 4 percent, stacking up to 3 times.

Best Relics for Argenti

An example of Argenti's ideal set with Champion of Streetwise Boxing and Inert Salsotto.

Argenti is a Physical damage dealer. That said, Champion of Streetwise Boxing Relics are a must. If possible, equip a four-piece Champion of Streetwise Boxing set to raise Physical DMG by 10 percent and increase ATK by 5 percent whenever the wearer attacks or receives damage. That effect stacks up to five times, so that's potentially a 25 percent ATK increase.

If you don't have ideal Champion Relics, then matching two pieces of Champion with two pieces of Musketeer of Wild Wheat is a serviceable backup. That way, you can still get a small ATK bonus from the Musketeer's two-piece effect.

Here's a quick rundown of both set bonuses:

Champion of Streetwise Boxing

  • Two-piece effect: Increases Physical DMG by 10 percent.
  • Four-piece effect: After the wearer attacks or is hit, their ATK increases by 5 percent for the rest of the battle. This effect can stack up to 5 times.

Musketeer of Wild Wheat

  • Two-piece effect: ATK increases by 12 percent.
  • Four-piece effect: The wearer's SPD increases by 6 percent and Basic ATK DMG increases by 10 percent.

Inert Salsotto, a Crit Rate-boosting Ornament set, further increases Argenti's Ultimate DMG when his Crit Rate reaches 50 percent or higher. If that number is too hard to reach, Space Sealing Station makes a good alternative for the ATK boost and how early you can farm it in the Simulated Universe. You might need to fiddle with Relics before you can reach the 50 percent Crit Rate.

  • Inert Salsotto: Increases the wearer’s CRIT Rate by 8 percent. When the wearer’s current CRIT Rate reaches 50 percent or higher, the wearer’s Ultimate and follow-up attack DMG increases by 15 percent.
  • Space Sealing Station: Increases the wearer's ATK by 12 percent. When the wearer's SPD reaches 120 or higher, the wearer's ATK increases by another 12 percent.

Argenti Relic stats

Argenti's Skills scale based on his ATK. That said, Crit Rate and Crit DMG will also matter, especially based on his Light Cone and Ornament Set. If you need a higher Crit Rate for Inert Salsotto, then you'll probably need a Crit Rate body piece. However, if you already meet the Crit Rate requirement with Relic substats and Argenti's skill, then go for Crit DMG.

More ATK is always better, but be sure to use SPD boots if you don't have a SPD-boosting character on your team. Same goes for the Energy Regeneration rope, especially if you don't have any Support characters to help charge Argenti's Ultimate.

Best teams for Argenti

Argenti's Ultimate is his greatest asset, so do what you can to strengthen it.
Argenti's Ultimate is his greatest asset, so do what you can to strengthen it.

Argenti needs defenders and healers to protect him while attacking. It's even better if the Support characters have energy recharge abilities. Argenti does have self-recharging skills, but even more support can build his Ultimate faster.

Here are just a few examples that could work:

Argenti, Hanya, Tingyun, Huohuo

  • Both Tingyun and Huohuo can help Argenti charge his Ultimate with their energy regeneration-based Ultimates. Huohuo can also act as a healer with her restore skill. Hanya can help keep skill points in check and raise Argenti's ATK and SPD with her Ult.

Argenti, Fu Xuan, Natasha, Tingyun

  • Even without Huohuo, Tingyun can help recharge Argenti's Ultimate and buff his ATK. Natasha works to keep the team alive with healing and cleansing (removing debuffs with her skill) when necessary. Meanwhile, Fu Xuan fortifies defenses and raises HP and Crit Rate. Another defender like Gepard or Fire Trailblazer can also work in place of the Master Diviner.

Argenti, Hanya, Bronya, Natasha

  • Bronya remains a top-tier support because of her ability to advance allies' actions and offer a buttload of buffs. Hanya can help recover skill points, considering she'll need a lot of them. If you don't have Bronya, you can replace her with another support like Asta or Yukong to continuously buff teammates.

Argenti, Fire Trailblazer, Natasha, Asta (free-to-play)

  • Fire Trailblazer reduces damage and taunts enemies with their Skill, and shields allies (with paper-thin shields) whenever they attack enemies. Asta buffs allies' SPD and ATK. You can also swap Asta for Yukong if your team needs Imaginary DMG and doesn't mind the different buffs and playstyle.

This free-to-play team doesn't have the most synergy with Argenti, but it works with characters you will likely need for other teams and it doesn't require you to pull on a banner.
