The razer trinity can replace 1/2 the mice on the list with swappable magetic thumb plate with different button configs. Its literally any razer mouse in one, yet not on the list. The G15/g19 keboard i keep seeing on best lists, and its complete garbage. Only 1/2 the key is lit....so you have no idea what key your punctuation is. Its a major design flaw. The keylighting software is the worst in the industry. Confusing and complicated. I have a bean new g19 in the pail next to me.. Best of..not quite.

"So, with that said, we recommend the Viper Ultimate to left-handed players and the Viper V2 Pro to right-handed players."

Why, when the layout/chassis is the same and you have more programmable buttons on the Ultimate?

I'm using a DeathAdder V3 (wired), it was kinda expensive for a mouse but I like it a lot. I hope the clicks and scroll wheel last for a long time.

Edit: This article got bumped, so I figured I'd update this comment. The scroll wheel lasted maybe two months? I had to ditch that mouse.

I've been using a G502 X for about half a year now, and I really like it. Had to get used to the shape, but it feels comfortable now. The scroll wheel is sturdy and feels durable, but it does make it harder to push down, so I'm using the "thumb click" on the side as a middle-click instead (you can change its function through G Hub).

The only downside is that now whenever I have to use a normal mouse, I find myself reaching for a "thumb click" that isn't there. It's too intuitive!

I have the Razer Basilisk Ultimate (wireless+wired version), and I'm quite pleased with it. I use it both for work and gaming, and it performs flawlessly on both.

I bought it on a good offer, a bit over 100$. I had to replace a Logitech G502 Lightspeed Wireless, on which the left button developed the vaunted double clicking issue after only 8 months of normal use, and no abuse. Look around the web for the issue, you'll be impressed by the number of G502 owners complaining about this... I sent it to the service since it was still in warranty, and after a few weeks, the switch got replaced (they had to order the parts).

Anyway, if I were to compare the 2 mice, I prefer the Basilisk.

The wheel resistance adjustment option I find much more useful that Logitech's free scroll. The wheel scroll and click on the G502 tend to be too rigid when locked - not a big issue in normal/gaming use, but for work the Basilisk's wheel agrees much more with me.

The thumb support on the Basilisk is very comfy, and has very good ergonomics (I use a partial claw grip and I have medium sized hands)

And last but not least, the charging stand included with the Basilisk is very easy to use. I keep it connected to my Corsair K95 Platinum XT keyboard, with the wire kept short, and simply put the mouse on it to charge up whenever I leave the desk, or during the night. Seems like a good QOL improvement over having to manually attach the wire to the mouse.

Been using the Basilisk every day for almost a year now (working from home), and encountered zero problems with it. Build quality seems much better than Logitech's - something to look out for.

There's only one downside to the Basilisk vs G502 : battery life. The 100h life is a little fantasy (or maybe you can get there by turning the leds off completely? Didn't want to try it, I like the lights). The G502 could last 6-7 days on one charge and using it for ~10 hours a day every day. The Basilisk only lasts for ~3 days maybe even a small part of the 4th in the same conditions (led lights lowered to about 30%, 3000DPI, 1000 poll rate). That amounts to ~40h at best. You can mitigate that by very comfortably using the charging stand when you leave or during the night, but it's worth mentioning and considering when choosing this mouse.

I for one am happy with it overall, and I recommend the Basilisk Ultimate over the G502 Lightning Wireless any day.

why do almost none of the mouse manufacturers include a 3rd click ring finger button? the Logitech G600 and maybe 2 others i've ever seen have this or something similar to it. it is one of the biggest improvements to a mouse since the adaption of the 3 clicks 40+ years ago.

originally used for gaming it was an awesome addition for melee attacks, blocking/parrying, any type of 2nd/3rd attack or even as a fluid DPI adjustment control. but as time went on i have become adapted to using it as a R Ctrl key when regularly using the PC and it has just become a natural part of keyboard shortcuts, etc. it also functions as a nice rest for the right side of the hand.

the G600 definitely beats the Corsair Scimitar Pro for any type of RPG or other gaming with it's scroll wheel left/right tilt, thumb buttons shape, ring finger button and with overall 17 additional programmable buttons besides the regular left-click, right-click and middle-click. of course the amount of buttons doesn't matter much for a lot of games but the placement and programming options for this particular mouse make it better than the majority out there when used for any purpose.

my larger-than-average hand lies almost flat across the top of the mouse with my thumb resting naturally against the left side due to the wide shape and added right-side button. this has turned out to be much more comfortable than a claw or other type of grips.

Not sure on the other categories but the best MMORPG mouse is the Steel-series 500. https://steelseries.com/gaming-mice/rival-500

So much to love here. : thumb layout and paddles switches are a game changer. Thumb down, up, forward or back and inner thumb makes this an intuitive button layout without ever lifting the mouse or moving your hand out of position. The dorsal fin button is awesome and most high end mouses are going to it. I find I use the upper right mouse button so much, i cannot live without it now.

And I thought the force feedback was a gimmick, but now i love it. You can set any button to give 3 different vibrations and 3 strengths of vibrations. For instance I set my finish critical to strong long rumble, and my dots to short quick pulses. This never interferes with tracking due to some witch craft I guess, as the vibration goes up and down never side to side. Just having an extra non visual cue is very satisfying. You can map all of your action buttons to the mouse and forego uses Ctrl or Alt with clicks ever again.

Very easy to use software, and so far each mouse is lasting me around 2yrs- pretty impressive as I destroy mouses and keyboards pretty fast. Also the amazon basics gaming keyboard is awesome as the price is very low and easy to replace frequently. I have now switched to the logitech mechanical wireless. Good value, and durable.

By the way is the plural mouses or mice when it comes to input device mice or gaming mouse?? not the small rodent mammal.

I made an account just to say how much I disagree with these recommendations ^_^ how does the G604 beat out either the G Pro wireless or Viper wireless? And how come there's no zowie or glorious or anything like that on the list? I feel like you guys need to spend some time with the snobs on r/mousereview

Hi bro excellent review. 3 questions, about Steelseries Sensei Ten:

-My hand is 17 cm long, I measured it from the tip of the middle finger to the end of the palm, I measured it with a ruler to measure, do you think the Sensei Ten will be comfortable for me?

-I never had a mouse with side buttons on both sides. I have always played with a mouse exclusively for right-handed people with side buttons only on the left. Do you think the side buttons on the left of the Sensei Ten will be annoying for a right handed?

-I am right-handed and use the side buttons on the left side of the mouse. I mean, if the side buttons on the right side of the mouse can be uncomfortable when you grab the mouse with your right hand. Right-handed mice only bring side buttons on the left side of the mouse

I like the look of the Corsair Ironclaw RGB, might have to try that one out. I naturally have a claw grip and I have wide hands and this mouse looks to fit my prerequisites.

I'm currently using a Roccat Kone Aimo. Fantastic mouse and highly recommend :)

I had almost all Razer’s and Logitech’s gaming mouses. Razer mices is usually not very reliable for the long run and have many malfunctions with the sensor after about a year. I’m Using SteelSeries’s Rival 600 for almost a year now And i absolutely love it for FPS games.

@WarFox89: Yeah Razer and Logitech are very cheaply made in my experience. SteelSeries and Roccat are far superior choices.

I found Zowie make a good gaming mouse if you want high quality, no RGB nonsense. I prefer it over a Razer, Logitech and Roccat that I've used in the past.

Plus Zowie mice work out of the box with no need to install special drivers or bloated configuration software.

No suggestion for the Cooler Master MM710? It had some QC issues out of the gate, I heard, but they must have remedied the problems because I think mine is a cracking good mouse

At the moment the sensor for the Razer Viper Ultimate is unrivaled. It's generally an amazing mouse and the best I've owned. Though, for that price it should be.

I am generally not a big Razer guy, but I have been using a Deathadder for years and absolutely love it. It is simple, runs smoothly, and feels good, and its fairly cheap.

Corsair mice are great, but its hard to find one that doesn't hurt my hand after a few hours of gaming. All those "ergonomic" mice usually make my thumb cramp up.

@RELeon: I agree, and the Deathadder is not ambidextrous but left or right handed makes it extra comfortable. I have a Deathadder left-handed version and I also absolutely love it.

I play wow, FPS, and many other games. I personally prefer the Rival 500

https://steelseries.com/gaming-mice/rival-500

There are things that make this mouse so special. The tactile feed back and the paddles on the thumb and near mouse wheel. First off though: lighting on a mouse is a joke, aesthetics at best, night lights for noobs at worse. Also DPI has gotten so high it rarely matters now as even the most basic of budget mice are capable. Also mice quality is much better then its ever been. Less then 15yrs ago you would having to buy new ones every few months, now most last more then a year.

So the Rival 500, which is an older mice is still the best for mmo to fps. A large array of buttons is nice, but the best thing is the paddles. Such a great feedback, and allows smooth motion while also left/right clicking. The tactile feedback can be assigned to any button and in many different forms. Like say I put a infrequent, but important debuff spell to button 6 and assign a long slow rumble to denote it activating. A more critical attack -gets a sharp strong short vibration. And none of the vibration ever bothers tracking. You become so addicted to the force feedback it will be hard to ever return.

A must for WoW.

@doorselfin: yeah, it is great. Vibration or force feedback i thought for sure was going to be a gimmick and i hate everything gimmicky about input devices. So easy to set buttons to 1 through = , with option to apply any force feedback. It gives such a satisfying feeling when it goes off, as you know you got it off without having to look around. And your mouse rumbles just as you kill an enemy, is nice. Again somehow none of the vibrations ever bother tracking, - i have no idea how they are doing that.

The best thing about the mouse is your thumb sits on the rough center with the orange nub. Down paddle is my most freq casts or strikes, up button is dots. Just behind your thumb rest is another most used spell, strong debuff. This is a ton of control without your thumb moving all over the place- or off the center button. The surprising most used button i like is the button beside Right click, i set as any major critical, with forcefeedback. And the paddle behind the mouse is click by the index finger back pad nearest your hand, it is so natural it is crazy, and why most high mice are going to it.

I like the mice shown in the articles but they are built for crazy fps, or moba where million single clicks are more important , then say a mmorpg that require more options. But on that my rival 500 has last me since Legion with no problem at all. Not bad as i expect to burn through a mouse once a year.
