Battlefield 3 Aussie midnight launch details

Fighting wars is a difficult business and requires long hours and not a lot of sleep. For the dedicated Battlefield 3 fans out there, EB Games Australia and GAME are both opening up select stores late on Wednesday night to accommodate anyone who wants to pick up their copy of the game at the moment the clock strikes 12.

EB Games Australia has managed to snag the bragging rights to host "official Battlefield 3" midnight launches, with official openings taking place in:

Macarthur Square, New South Wales
Werribee, Victoria
Indooroopilly, Queensland
Galleria, Western Australia

All of these stores will be providing food and drinks to punters, as well as prizes, goody bags, and more. Unfortunately, for keen gamers in Western Australia, they'll have to wait an extra eight hours to get their game. Due to the state's retail trading laws, shops there can't host midnight launches. For Western Australians, the official launch of Battlefield 3 for their state will be held at the Galleria store from 8 a.m., where breakfast donuts will be provided.

EB Games Australia will also be opening up dozens of other stores around the country for those who are keen to pick up their copy of Battlefield 3 at midnight. For the full list of stores opening up at midnight, check out the EB Games Australia Facebook page.

While GAME might not be able to claim "official Battlefield 3 launch" status, its offer sees anyone who preorders Battlefield 3 with it receives a free pass to go paintballing at selected venues. To celebrate the release of Battlefield 3, the following GAME stores will be selling the game at midnight:

*As with all midnight launches, it's important to always ring the store that you plan on visiting before leaving your house to confirm that it's still happening. There have been instances in the past where midnight launches have changed at the last minute due to unforeseen circumstances, so to avoid disappointment, ring and confirm ahead of time.
