Bandai President To Step Down
Accepting responsibility for the breakdown of merger talks between Bandai and Sega, Makato Yamashina to resign.
Bandai Co. Ltd. president Makoto Yamashina, taking responsibility for Bandai pulling out of merger talks with Sega Co. Ltd., will reportedly resign as Bandai president. He will, however, remain Bandai's chairman of the board.
Japan watchers contacted by GameSpot News indicate that while his resignation carries great symbolic impact, he will probably remain a force within the company.
The Bandai board is expected to officially annnounce the change on Thursday.
