Bam Margera Is Suing Johnny Knoxville Over Getting Fired From Jackass Forever

Margera says he was coerced into signing a "wellness agreement" to appear in the movie without a lawyer looking it over.

Amid controversy surrounding his lack of involvement in the new Jackass movie, Bam Margera has officially filed a lawsuit against the movie's producers and star Johnny Knoxville. The suit, which also names Jackass co-creator Spike Jonze, alleges that he was wrongfully terminated from the upcoming fourth movie, Jackass Forever. Variety has the story and all the details.

Margera starred in the previous Jackass movies and TV shows. He was let go from Jackass Forever last year after he supposedly violated his "wellness agreement" after he tested positive for Adderall.

The lawsuit alleges that Knoxville, Jonze, and director Jeffrey Tremaine pressured Margera to sign the agreement while he was in rehab in 2019 and that he didn't have the chance to have a lawyer look it over. The lawsuit mentions that Margera's agreement with the production company behind Jackass Forever required regular drug and alcohol tests. Regarding Adderall specifically, Margera said in the court documents that he had been taking the drug for the past 10 years.

"Margera was made to endure psychological torture in the form of a sham Wellness Agreement, and then ultimately terminated for his protected class status due to his medical condition, and his complaints about Defendants' discriminatory conduct towards him," the suit said.

In a series of videos on Instagram, which have since been deleted, Margera lashed out at the production team and said nasty things about the film after he parted ways from it. However, Margera has since said that he has manic bipolar disorder and that he now believes in Jackass Forever.

"It's going to be f**king awesome, and it's going to be in a way where everyone wins in the end. So I love everybody," Margera said in a recent video, adding that he was taking time away to see a specialist for his health.

In an interview, Knoxville said, "We want Bam to be happy and healthy and get the help he needs. We tried to push that along. I think that's all I really want to say about it. I don't want to get into public back-and-forth with Bam. I just want him to get better."

Jackass Forever comes to theaters in October; check out the latest trailer above.
