Baldur's Gate 3 has been in the works for a long time at Larian, but the game's official release date (and early access exit) of August 2023 is fast approaching. At a recent panel showing off the game in Belgium, its lead writer noted that it includes many romance options, including a "tender, consensual romance" with a grizzly bear.

Now, if you're wondering about the ethical implications of this, it is worth stating that this grizzly bear is actually a man who has been temporarily transformed into an animal. In the D&D universe that Baldur's Gate 3 takes place in, most druids have the ability to "wild shape" into animal form a certain number of times per day, so this situation isn't as unusual as you might think.

The panel also revealed how deep Baldur's Gate 3's character creation tools will be at launch, complete with options like heterochromia, tattoo designs, piercings, and vitiligo. You can also customize your tiefling's horn color, because why not?

Best-known for its acclaimed Divinity series, Larian has been working on Baldur's Gate 3 since at least 2019. A portion of the game was released in early access back in 2020. It uses the ultra-popular Dungeons and Dragons Fifth Edition ruleset and is one of the most anticipated RPGs of 2023. It may come to Xbox in 2023. The game is currently set for an August 3 release date on PC, though the PS5 version won't come out until September 6.
