No Caption Provided Electronic Arts has incentivized new purchases of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 by releasing batches of content for members of its VIP club. That effort continues today, as the company has announced plans to bring a free third map pack to the game.

While dubbed "Map Pack 3," the digital offering doesn't bring anything singularly new to the online multiplayer experience. Instead, EA DICE, the game's developer, will add existing fighting modes to familiar multiplayer environments. On June 9, EA DICE will insert Squad Deathmatch into the Nelson Bay map, while the Laguna Alta playfield will open up to Squad Rush. Both the modes and the maps were previously available in Bad Company 2, though not in their current combinations.

Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 headshot hunters with a VIP code (packed inside every new copy of the game) can download the update when it becomes available, while those without a code can purchase one from the shooter's in-game store for $15. PC gamers can play the refreshed environments for free when the game's next update rolls out, though EA has yet to announce a date for when that will happen.

In May, EA DICE announced it would add a cooperative Onslaught mode to the game's matchmaking rotation. The mode was announced alongside the game's push past 5 million copies sold last month, but the content has no release date or price point.
