Baby Yoda Merch Is Here And It Looks Like Cheap Bootlegs

In a world where graphic designers exist...

Without a doubt, the biggest thing to come out of the Disney+ series The Mandalorian is the adorable Baby Yoda. Sure, he's not the actual infant version of Yoda, but this unnamed alien species child has won our hearts. So, when Disney announced Baby Yoda merch was coming soon, we were excited. That is, until we actually saw it.

The Disney Shop released various Baby Yoda t-shirts and a phone case on November 25. Curb your enthusiasm though because these shirts don't look great. It looks like something you could buy on TeeSpring or one of the many other t-shirt printing companies online. Sad, it is.

Now Playing: The Mandalorian Episode 3 - All The Star Wars Easter Eggs in Chapter 3 "The Sin"

Gaze your eyes upon this Baby Yoda shirt below. Using the concept art from The Mandalorian, it's actually the best shirt of the whole lot. However, that's not saying much as this still looks like a bootleg shirt you could buy in the middle of Times Square from someone dressed as Spock from Star Trek.

You can see all of everything the Disney store has for Baby Yoda merch above. Yes, that is a $45 phone case with the same picture of The Child on it, and it's a bummer. Kids' shirts range from $17-$23 and adult shirts for $25. Considering that there are plenty of Star Wars shirts on the Disney Shop that look great, like this simple Porg shirt or this R2-D2 hoodie for kids, it seems that Disney may not have been ready for all the Baby Yoda love.

Regardless of the pain you're feeling for this lackluster selection of merchandise, The Mandalorian is still a great show. Episode 3 of the series was the best one yet--and it had a ton of Easter eggs. In GameSpot's review of The Mandalorian, Chris E. Hayner said, "'The Sin' was directed by Deborah Chow, who is signed on to oversee the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series on Disney+. She brought a tone to this episode that fits the show well. While there was plenty of fun to be had--and some good humor care of Baby Yoda's antics--it never overshadowed the story being told--a story that was core to driving the series forward. Hopefully, The Mandalorian continues this trajectory in future episodes."

The Mandalorian airs on Fridays on Disney+.
