Avatar: Frontiers Of Pandora Is Already Steeply Discounted For PS5 And Xbox

Best Buy and Amazon are selling the brand-new release for $20 off.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora just launched on December 7, but the game is already seeing a big discount at Best Buy and Amazon. Both retailers are selling Ubisoft's open-world adventure for $50, down from $70. Best Buy was briefly offering the game for $40, but it appears that was a price error.

If you're buying Frontiers of Pandora as a last-minute gift, you'll want to get it from Best Buy. Online orders will arrive on your doorstep before Christmas; alternatively, you can order it for in-store pickup.

But if you're in no rush to get your copy, swing by Amazon. The retailer estimates orders won't arrive until January, but Amazon does have an exclusive limited edition for the same price. Along with the base game, it features the Sarentu Hunter Equipment Pack, giving you a character gear set and unique weapon.

The Best Buy deal applies to both the PS5 and Xbox editions, bringing them to just $40. The game has flown under the radar, especially for a big-budget AAA game from Ubisoft that just happens to be based on a wildly successful film franchise. Don't sleep on this one, though. It earned an impressive 8/10 in our Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora review, thanks to its fun movement system and a gorgeous open world to explore.

"Two things make Frontiers of Pandora work: its incredible setting and its alien protagonist," wrote critic Phil Hornshaw. "I've never had much more than a passing interest in the Avatar films, but Pandora, the lush alien world on which they take place, is an outstanding location to set a video game. It's an enormous and strange place, filled with alien plants, creatures that glow in darkness, and wildlife that towers over the landscape."
