Australia DS launch confirmed for February

Handheld to come with a demo of Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt; Feb 24 is DS day down under.

Nintendo will launch the DS in Australia on February 24, the manufacturer said today. The handheld will carry a price tag of AUD199.95 ($152 US), and, for a limited time, come with a demo of Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt (as was the case with the DS launch in this market as well). Nintendo said that the initial shipment of DS units to Oz retailers "far outweighs any hardware launch in the history of Nintendo in this country," though they didn't provide hard numbers. Super Mario 64 DS and WarioWare: Touched! will be available for the launch, with Pokemon Dash hot on the heels of those titles. The complete lineup of games for the Australian launch is expected soon.
