Aussie game charts: October 16-22

Battlefield 2142 knocks Pokemon out of top spot; new Splinter Cell game debuts strong.

SYDNEY--Pikachu's grip on the Aussie game charts has finally been broken. After three straight weeks at the top, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team for the Nintendo DS has been knocked out of the number one position, replaced by EA's futuristic shooter, Battlefield 2142.

Battlefield 2142 for PCs nabbed the top spot in the overall sales charts in its first week of release down under, according to data trackers GfK Australia. Sam Fisher's latest exploits in Splinter Cell Double Agent for the Xbox 360 also had a strong showing on debut, securing the second spot in sales charts for the week of October 16 to October 22.

It wasn't all bad news for Nintendo, however. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team for the DS was still the third best-selling game in the country, while New Super Mario Bros for the DS and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team for the GameBoy Advance also made the overall top 10.
