AU Shippin' Out July 26-30: Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty

Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty officially goes on sale tomorrow, with select EB Games and JB Hi-Fi stores around Australia opening at midnight tonight to sell the game. The official launch will be held at EB Games' Albert Street store in Brisbane, Queensland, where Starcraft II producer Kaeo Milker will make an appearance and do a live Q&A with those eager enough to be there at midnight.

The plot of Starcraft II has been divided up into three instalments, with Wings of Liberty focusing on the Terran's campaign. Outlaw Jim Raynor is again the protagonist for the humans, as he teams up with his old war buddy Tychus Findlay to unravel the mystery behind the Zerg's aggressive return. The controversial multiplayer offering, which kept the first game going for so long, has also undergone significant changes. The good news is that despite being locked to Southeast Asian servers initially, Blizzard promises to let Aussie gamers onto US servers within 60 days.

Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty aside, there are no other games out this week. The next couple of weeks also appear to be fairly quiet, until late August, which sees the release of Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days and Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies.
