Focus Entertainment’s studio Deck13 Interactive has shown off a new and detailed look at the gameplay for Atlas Fallen, its upcoming action-RPG. While the previous gameplay trailer showed off a glimpse of the world of Atlas and the horrors lurking beneath its sands, this new video sheds more light on how you become empowered and the tools that you'll have at your disposal.

Everything revolves around the gauntlet, a mystical artifact that imbues your nameless character with the power to stand up to the tyrannical Sun God Thelos and the Wraiths that stalk the land. You'll be able to wield the Dunecleaver which can shape the sands of Atlas into blades and hammers, the Sandwhip which can dish out quick damage, and the Knuckledust which packs a punch.

What makes each weapon stand out is the Essence Stones system, as there'll be 151 of these items to discvover and equip to help you define your personal playstyle. By experimenting with the gauntlet weapons and Essence Stones, you'll be able to find a synergy between active and passive skills to help define your approach to combat.

Essence Stones can be found throughout Atlas by smashing parts off of enemies, and some can even be crafted. Using this system, it'll be possible to respond to enemies with big haymaker attacks, perfect dodges, and enhanced aerial combos.

After a short delay, Atlas Fallen will launch on August 10 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Preorders for the game are live, and all editions come with the Ruin Rising Pack DLC which includes exclusive cosmetic items and combat abilities.
