I really wanted this

Soo... We lose a 3DS game I would have never even bothered to buy and instead get a console game I've been dying to play. Seems good to me.

gotta love publishers that bail on a system just because of a rocky start. then again thats what happens when you release a system that has no big games ready for it >_>

Why bother announcing a game if you're just going to cancel it?

meh... I don't know if this would be optimal on a One-analog-stick system. Not too mad about the decision.

Between this and MML3 the only game for the 3ds I wanted that's left is Luigi's Mansion... what a waste of money on my part.

3DS is suffering "Wii syndrome". All the 3rd party devs seem to be leaving it :S

I've got the other consoles anyway so I will still get to play it....but I can't help thinking that this would have been a better experience for my train journeys to and from work...rather than late nights when I'm all tired from work and can't be bothered. Ocarina of Time on the 3DS made me enjoy my train journeys.

@Rifqi_Hb yeah I liked the ac game on the psp it is allot of fun to play and it deserves a much higher score than what gs gave it of course they almost always give a game that is only on a Sony consoles/hand held a score lower than what it deserves ie infamous 2 come on a 7.5 when it deserves nothing lower than a 9

I dont see the point when all their games a full of bugs and issues that they never patch.

@TheVGamer I know, but it's because people got caught in the motion control hype, I don't know many people that have a Wii and they only play the occasional game of Wii Sports.

I actually like this news. I dont mind playing games on handhelds but AC should b a console only game.

I want to see some console-quality type games on the 3DS. None of this 1991 side-scrolling business like the Green Lantern and Thor. Take a game like AC and simply make it smaller. That's all developers have to do. Make a small version. Not some cheap, thrown together blurry mess; just take the same game and click and drag it onto the handheld. Boom, bam, you're done. Simple.

Im seeing quite a few 3ds cancellations, thats bad news for people like myself who bought it on the strength of the games announced for the future. im enjoying the 3ds but ive bought all the games that interest me now and nothing for another few months

THANK YOU!!! Personally, i hate trying out portable versions of games, thinking they're halfway decent, then going back and buying the console versions. Ubisoft just saved me more money than switching to Gieco.........

It would be cool if there was a Move/Kinect AC game. Just think how fun using the hidden blade would be...

yeah maybe thats why the cancelled it because they knew they could not really deliever the same level as the consoles. Hopefully they will make a PSVita version as it seems that system could handle it! kinda a shame though!

i tried the portable versions of AC and they dont quite capture what makes the series great, they always feel very watered down and bare boned, but the 3DS does have a lot more horsepower so i was curious to see how this version was gonna turn out but i guess this is for the best. AC is a large and expansive game and only feels fully fleshed out on consoles

If they had gone along and made lost legacy it would have looked bad and been super short, Assassins Creed should stick to home consoles for now.

I'm not too bothered, as Assassin's Creed games are rubbish. But it's not good news to hear of any third party pulling out of developing a 3DS game.

Once again Ubisoft doesn't give two s***s about Nintendo consoles. They can make all those piece of crap Imagine games but not an AC game? Ubisoft is a pathetic developer.

The problem with 3DS is that DS was supposed to be this little cash-in console, requiring minimal resources while still selling a lot of copies. When they introduced the 3D concept, it became much harder to make games for and was not productive. Well, what can you do, not every system can be Wii.

"it's no coincidence that Lost Legacy's plot line bears a striking resemblance to that of Assassin's Creed: Revelations" I thought of that when I heard the plot for Revelations. Oh well, would much rather have it on the tv screen than a much smaller screen and have to squint.

It was to be expected, Ubisoft is scared of releasing another portable AC game, the ones for the DS and PSP were a big fail. Ubisoft doesn't have the competence for it, so it was better to give up anyways.

y, wheres the vita version , cause seing the game that going to come out at vita like uncharted it will be a right console for the nex generation of psp

I'll play every AC series game whether there are 5 games or 10.

i would consider it a cash-in if the games weren't consistently interesting and fun to play. i, for one, can't wait!

I figured this is what happened, I just wanted confirmation. It was like an itch that needed to be scratched.

This pretty much confirms that Revelations is just another cash-in sequel in a series that was promising before they started milking it to death.

I really liked the first one, but feel they're moving in the wrong direction, making it more story driven, less of a sandbox.

I personally liked the AC series. Brotherhood was fun playing around in Rome.. Granted you have to get use to the game play, but once done, its pretty sweet. Can't wait for the next chapter..
