Writing on Twitter, Studio Wildcard shared a "little preview" of what's included with the upcoming patch. With regards to frame rate, which some players have voiced concerns about, the new update will offer "rendering frame rate improvements," according to the preliminary patch notes.

As for split-screen, this feature will be supported for both online and local play. You can read GameSpot's previous coverage for the split-screen feature to learn more about how it works.

The upcoming Xbox One patch also brings the console version to content parity with the PC edition through version 233, including the dung beetle, beer-making functionality, and more. You can see the full patch notes preview below.

This patch is scheduled to launch sometime in mid-February, according to Studio Wildcard co-founder and creative director Jesse Rapczak.

GameSpot recently spoke with Rapczak about Ark's February update and Studio Wildcard's ambitions for the game overall. Check back later this week to see the full interview.

Ark is available now on PC through Early Access and on Xbox One via the Game Preview program. The full release is scheduled for this summer across those two platforms as well as PlayStation 4.
