Developer Studio Wildcard released the ferocious little beasts in the game this week as part of an update. The dinosaurs, officially known as Compsognathus but commonly known as Compy, are not so scary alone. But when they group together in a "Compy Gang," that's when you'll want to be on guard.

The Ark update also adds a new rocket turret, a sea mine, a magnifying glass, persistent tribe logs, and wall laps. In addition, this update--v224--introduces a new recipe/cooking system that allows players to design their own food and drink concoctions.

Other recent creature additions have included the massive Giganotosaurus, a penguin-like creature, and an ancient Anglerfish.

Ark is available now on PC through Steam Early Access, where it's sold more than 2 million copies since its release earlier this year. An Xbox One version will be released through the console's Game Preview program very soon, while the full, complete version is slated to launch on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC in 2016.
