THQ and Disney Interactive enter into a publishing agreement for The Little Mermaid II on the PlayStation.

Comments

THQ has announced an agreement with Disney Interactive to publish Disney's The Little Mermaid II for the Sony PlayStation. In the game, players assume the role of either Ariel or Melody. Within 3D underwater levels, they must battle enemies, interact with friends, collect treasures, and solve puzzles. The game is closely based on the direct-to-video film release of Disney's The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea, and it includes over 30 minutes of FMV featuring scenes from the movie.

"Disney is a leader in creating timeless family entertainment," said Alison Locke, executive vice president of North American publishing for THQ. "The wide recognition of Disney's The Little Mermaid, coupled with THQ's proven track record in the kids gaming arena, is sure to make Disney's The Little Mermaid II for the PlayStation a hit."

The game will be released in fall 2000.
