FXX's Archer has been renewed for Season 12, according to a release. The long-running animated comedy's next season is slated to debut sometime in 2021 on FXX, FX, and Hulu.

For those who haven't been watching, the show is a half-hour comedy that is equal parts James Bond, meta jokes, and Adult Swim irreverent vibes. The current season is easy to dive into but worth noting that the series is going through a bit of a reset after a number of huge stylistic detours--the result of its titular character, detective Sterling Archer, being in a coma.

Season 11, which is still airing, though will conclude on October 28, chronicles Archer's "return to the spy world after a three-year coma." The world has moved on and changed drastically, and so has his detective-agency workplace, and Season 11 is about the power struggles as Archer tries to take workplace conduct back to the old ways he's used to.

"Archer is back in a big way this season, with viewership up as the Emmy Award-winning spy series returns to its roots and begins to plot a 12th season next year," Nick Grad, president of original programming for FX Entertainment, said. "Our thanks to Adam Reed, Matt Thompson, Casey Willis and the entire team at Floyd County Productions for keeping Archer as fun as ever and true to form. Together with its unbelievable voice cast, Archer is set to give fans another great season."

The series stars the voices of H. Jon Benjamin (The Venture Bros.), Aisha Tyler (BoJack Horseman), Jessica Walter (Arrested Development), Judy Greer (Ant-Man), Chris Parnell (30 Rock), and Adam Reed (Robot Chicken). Reed, who also co-created the popular early Adult Swim series Sealab 2021 and Frisky Dingo, is also the creator of Archer.

The series was previously expected to end after Season 10, but clearly is still going strong.
