Despite announcing that Anarchy Online: Shadowlands went gold two weeks ago, Funcom has today announced that the release of the stand-alone Anarchy Online expansion pack has been pushed back by two weeks. Originally scheduled for release on August 26, Shadowlands will now arrive in stores on September 9.

"With Shadowlands, we are literally adding a whole new dimension to our game," explained Funcom CEO Trond Aas. "The scope of the project is huge, and we have found that we need a couple of more weeks of testing and balancing before launching the expansion. I'm convinced everyone will see the sense in our decision. The extra wait will be long forgotten once they start exploring the marvelous world of Shadowlands."

In addition to the new Shadowlands content, the pack includes the full versions of both the original Anarchy Online and the subsequent Notum Wars expansion. New players who buy the Shadowlands pack will receive a free one-month subscription, while anyone who preorders the game will be entitled to an exclusive luxury apartment in the floating city of Jobe.
